This is a small-sized epiphyte found in the Moluccas and Borneo, typically in hill forests at elevations around 500 meters. It thrives in hot to warm conditions with clustered, ovoid, obscurely angled pseudobulbs and a single broad, coriaceous leaf. In spring, it produces a basal, 30 cm long, curved or sub-erect inflorescence with an umbel of 6 to 10 flowers. For optimal flowering, it requires partial shade, good air movement, and high humidity.
