Overview:
'Toyo nishiki' Flowering Quince is considered one of the rarest multi-colored quince varieties, famous for its striking "multiple colors on a single tree" display.
Originally from Japan, this variety has been cultivated for over a century and is highly sought after by gardeners and collectors worldwide. A single plant can bloom in multiple colors at the same time, including deep red, pink, rose-red, orange-red, and pure white.
In some cases, color gradients may even appear within a single flower, creating a highly distinctive and ornamental effect.
Because of this remarkable color diversity, 'Toyo nishiki' is often described as a living color palette among flowering plants.
Note:
All multi-colored varieties may occasionally produce single-colored blooms. This is because multi-color traits are not 100% genetically fixed, and natural variation is part of what creates their color diversity. Bloom color may also be influenced by factors such as plant maturity, number of flowering branches, environmental conditions, climate, and temperature. If a plant does not display multi-colored flowers at a certain time, this does not indicate a mislabel or incorrect variety.
