This orchid is a miniature, mat-forming species with dark red flowers and thick, oblong leaves that turn purple in bright light. Native to Colombia and Venezuela, it grows on trees in dense clumps. The plant flowers twice a year, with blooms lasting for months. It requires minimal care, just misting when dry. A specimen of this orchid earned a Certificate of Cultural Excellence (CCE) with over 1200 flowers. Available plants are divisions of this award-winning specimen.
