Found in Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua, is a large epiphyte growing in full sun at low altitudes in low montane forests. The plant features clavate, textured pseudobulbs with 2 apical, elliptic leaves. Blooming occurs in late winter to early spring with a 5.5-inch (13.75 cm) inflorescence that produces 5 to 10 flowers from a mature pseudobulb.
