Overview:
Thierry Marx is a recent rose. The blooms feature a rare violet-toned coloration with visible transitions of smoky purple, deep magenta, and hints of white. Flowers open in a deep cup with a classical spiral center, then gradually relax into a shallow cup and maintain their form until petal drop.
Bloom size typically ranges from 3–4 inches, with spring blooms occasionally reaching the upper end. The petals have pointed tips, good substance, and acceptable self-cleaning behavior, falling cleanly rather than flattening. While not a “plastic” heat-proof rose, it tolerates sun reasonably well and does not scorch easily under typical summer conditions.
Fragrance is complex and layered, combining rose with citrus-forward fruity notes including lemon, citronella, and grapefruit. Overall intensity is strong, rated around 4/5. With excellent disease resistance, heat tolerance, and cold hardiness, this is a well-balanced modern Delbard rose with strong garden performance.
